Vision and mission
The vision of Community Correctional Services (CCS) is: ‘Better lives and safer communities by promoting change’.
Our mission is: ‘A collaborative and responsive system, with skilled and supported staff, that empowers positive choices’.
In recently developing a new vision and mission for CCS, we’ve committed to shift our communication to ensure the use of more humanising language, encompass culturally safe practices, consult with people with lived experience, align our practice to the modern evidence base and empower our workforce to help people on their desistance journey.
Role of Community Correctional Services
CCS manages individuals who have been placed on an order by the courts or the Adult Parole Board. We deliver services that address the underlying causes of a person's offending and which contribute to making the community safer.
We do this by applying evidence-based approaches in case management practices and providing frameworks and guidelines that support staff to deliver services.
Our processes and procedures aim to:
- encourage individuals to adopt pro-social behaviours
- minimise recidivism rates
- connect individuals to their communities, programs and services.
