This report provides a summary of research conducted for Corrections Victoria (CV) by Monash University, Victoria which looked at the post-release experiences of women exiting prison in Victoria between 2011 and 2012, and the association between participation in prison programs and prisoner outcomes post-release

This research indicated that female prisoners commonly struggle with housing, family connections, mental and physical health issues and generally rebuilding their lives following release.
