This paper is the fourth in a series of research papers exploring a range of contemporary correctional issues.

It was commissioned by Corrections Victoria to explore the prevalence of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) in the Victorian prison population, and tests an ABI screening tool to assist with the identification of brain injury among prisoners.

The findings clearly indicate that individuals with ABI are substantially over-represented in the Victorian prison population – an important finding for correctional administrators to consider.
