Corrections Victoria acknowledges the death of an 84-year-old prisoner at Langi Kal Kal on Sunday 24 March 2024.
Deaths in custody have an impact on family members, friends and corrections system staff, as well as victims of crime. We are working to ensure they are provided with the support they need.
The staff and men at Langi Kal Kal are also being supported.
All deaths in custody are reported to the Coroners Court of Victoria, which formally determines the cause of death.
